I just got it and, although it’s bigger (deeper) than I thought it would be, I really like it. Controls are a little more gadgety than regular toasters but that’s fine with me. However I can foresee having to explain to my husband and parents and probably numerous other luddites how to make toast. But it’s silver and shiny and pretty. So far I’m pretty happy with it.

Only 4 stars b/c it’s so big. OMG how big is the SIX slice toaster??

This is a great toaster—perfectly cooks toast, bagels, and English muffins, but more than that it’s an easy to use mini oven. I’ve used it for baked fish, pork tenderloin, and vegetables. We use it everyday, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase.

This oven replaced a smaller toaster oven, which had a standard toaster on the top and a oven compartment below with a toggle switch to tell the machine which one to use. It worked okay, but toast was very uneven, and often caught in the tines.

The Breville Smart Oven is awesome! It’s really just like a regular oven, only smaller, on your counter top and with a wide, clear window in the door. I have used it to bake rolls, make toast and toast bagels and am very impressed thus far. It heats up quickly and precisely, browns evenly and is easy to use and clean. I am looking forward to trying out some lamb chops in it next.

It is a bit larger than some toaster ovens, but I think the trade off is worth it. It works much better than the little one we had, has a lot more versatility and even the toasting is better. You can even use the top to warm plates.

Looking forward to putting this thing through its paces!

I really like my new Breville smart oven. I have only used it for baking, and it works quite well. It is too small to do large amounts of cooking, but it has been perfect for the small jobs I have needed it for.

The baking function uses 1,300 watts as opposed to other features which use up to 1,800 watts. I live in an older rental house. Just using the baking function caused my lights to flicker. I still use it, but I don’t use any other electrical appliances at the same time. I’m sure this would not be an issue in a newer home or modern apartment. Not sure if I will attempt to use the higher wattage settings until I move to another house, though.

It heats up VERY quickly. It only took 2 minutes to pre-heat it to 375 degrees. I was very impressed with this. You just have to remember that it DOES work as well as an oven. The first couple of times I used it, I had the mentality that it was a small toaster oven and couldn’t cook as quickly as a regular oven. I ended up drying out the food a little. Now I make certain that I use it (timing-wise) like a regular oven.

For those interested, the pans that it comes with are 10 inches by 10 inches. That will give people a better idea of whether or not it is big enough to do the job for them. I will continue to use this smart oven when a larger pan is not needed. The speediness of the pre-heating is very important to me, and it does cook very enenly. I think this would be great for a single person. It would be fantastic for a college student trying to function in a dorm room. Not too sure I would pay the asking price if I had a large family or just wanted to use it as a toaster with occasional use of the other features.
