The water tastes like metal. No matter what. It isn’t the water, it isn’t the way it is cleaned. It’s the bottle leaching that taste. I’ve got other stainless bottles that do the same thing. I like the giant size of this one. I like to put it in the freezer for a while to chill the water – not freeze it. The bottle sweats
August 25th, 2010 at 2:31 amand the water warms up as you would expect. Fine for short trips. I keep it wrapped in a cloth when we go out. Hey, the damp cloth has come in handy with 3 children! We will still use it but not for me. I’m one of those people who taste things in a magnified way.

This water bottle is pretty nice, especially been metal instead of plastic. I haven’t really noticed the metal contributing any strange flavors or anything. The only problem is that is upside down or on its side for awhile it can leak slightly, not much but a little bit. I am happy with the purchase though.
