I bought the vinyl, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe packages. This boxed set is very well made and a beauty to hold on to. No need to review the album as we all know what a masterpiece that is. I assume the mastering of the CD in this kit matches that of the Deluxe which is mastered too loud. Hopefully the vinyl will sound better. The hard bound book in this set was a lot of fun to read and the pictures were really great. There are at least 3 pictures showing Mick Taylor who’s virtuoso guitar playing on the album makes it what it is. The DVD is a short tease of what will hopefully be fully released someday (i.e. CS Blues). The post cards are included in this set. All in all this is a really cool collector’s item for fans of the Mick Taylor era who can afford it.

The remastered tracks speak for themselves. Do not deny yourself because of a few who have tin ears, inferior stereos or expected 10×12 personally autographed pictures in the package…LOL…

anybody who followed the stones from their beginning knows what Mick Taylor meant to the sound of the band. mostly their post-taylor music seems empty; it simply lacks an entire dimension – taylor’s fluid, blues-rock solos. fortunately for the glimmer twins, because of the powerful music of the taylor-era the stones endured and prospered. unfortunately for mick taylor, he has not. and the royalties he deserved for his contributions stopped in 1982. until he gets paid, i suggest if you want to buy a stones album at least buy one of mick’s, too. you just might hear what’s missing from “the greatest rock n roll band in the world”.

This super boxset is AWESOME!!!!!! They even lowered the price from when I ordered the set. The book is awesome. The vinyl sounds so warm and rich sounding, as vinyl always does. The DVD is a little tease as to what is coming. I preordered the full version. The more I listen to the disk of extras I think I agree with others, the vocals are newly recorded on some songs and Mick’s voice has changed. Not necessarly better or worse just different. If you listen closely you can tell the vocals are new. With Jimmy Miller no longer alive he wasn’t able to come in and record the vocals. I did hear they brought in Mick Taylor to record some additional guitar? Normally I don’t like it when you mess with history/the past but when you can get the original guitarist, who can still play, back in that’s ok in my book, very cool. They could have easily gotten Ronnie to play the parts. Hopefully in the future we will get some extras that have been bootlegged for years. Would love to get a disk or two from the Chess sessions in the 60’s. An anthology ala The Beatles-Anthology would be great. Spend the money and get this set you will not be disapointed!!!!
