Had a HP Officejet before, but a lessor model. This Pro model is fantastic and I have yet to learn to use all that it offers. If you are running any kind of office, you can’t go wrong with this machine.

Thank you all for you reviews. I have been an HP fan for a long time, however the experiences that I just read about it making me re-consider.
August 23rd, 2010 at 9:27 amThe problems with limited English speaking support is a real deal breaker for me. I hope an HP rep reads these comments.

I purchased this printer after doing extensive research and reading through lots of reviews. Got a good deal on it too with the instant $[...] rebate. I am know fully regretting the purchase. If you need to talk to HP support, which you will, you will understand my frustration. HP is absolutely the worst company to deal with.
The scanner looks good after you put the thing together yourself as it comes in pieces. Setup is a little tricky and although I am very technical required our IT team to assist. The printing and scanning functions are very noisy. I have had constant problems with the scanner not scanning particular documents. Most documents will scan fine but occasionally it will get a document it can’t scan and when you try to open the file it says it is damaged no matter how many attempts to scan it. When this happens I am able to scan them just fine first try on a much much older HP unit.
The product description claims you can print 2,450 b/w pages or 1,700 color pages. I haven’t even really gotten to use the printer due to all the problems and have only printed 260 pages mostly b/w. Already I am almost out of ink and this is with the genuine HP cartridges it shipped with.
Overall I think that the printer could have had potential perhaps if it were built by a company other than HP. Don’t get me wrong I have never had a bad experience with HP in the past. But I don’t think I will ever purchase another one of their products after purchasing this printer. Why a much HP model can perform just fine and this one can’t is beyond me. When I try to call customer support I feel as if I am the one offering the support. If all you need is something for around the house and don’t need to rely on the printer/scanner/fax then it might work for you. If however you expect the product to perform as advertised then be warned.

My easily frustrated by technology husband set this printer up without any help so I know it would be easy for most anyone (compared to the migraine and fits of temper caused by the Canon we returned prior to purchasing this HP). High marks for the fax setup wizard that comes with the software. It was painless to get the device set up on a line shared with voice calls and an answering machine in one try. All of the functions are very simple to operate, the buttons on the front of the machine are clear and logical, the menus on the panel are not hard to navigate. The software interface that launches for scanning and photo printing is also easy to operate and not at all confusing. No error messages or crashes have happened so far. Print quality is good, no complaints. The cartridges were simple to install and the pages per cartridge is good value though the initial cost for them may seem high in comparison to other brands. The device is attractive and the footprint is a bit smaller than the device it replaced.

Price searching for months and Beach Audio blew all competitors out the water. After order was confirmed the company notifed me that this item had become back ordered, an apology and that I could withdraw my order was sent to me. Before the day had ended after receiving the first notice another notice was sent stating “my printer was being shipped”. This company had comitted to it’s word and came through. Three days later I had my printer. Excellent follow up!!!
